You're the only one I can ask. Kintarou kissed me and I didn't hate it! It was only on the cheek but...I usually hate that sort of thing. But I didn't. I was actually sort of okay with it. Is there something wrong with me? Am I turning into a pervert after I finally got away from dad? I can't ask anyone else...

I think, perhaps, that you try too hard. He uses your own feelings against you. If you could find a way to not care, then you would likely beat him.

Ah. My apologies for misunderstanding. With the mention of fears of becoming a pervert, it sounded as though you were interested in him as more than a friend.

...Ryoma, you are not a pervert. I think you never will be one. You may have inherited a lot from your father, but this you get from your mother. Don't let the fear of becoming like your father stunt your emotional growth. It is okay to show and receive physical expressions of affection with your friends. A kiss on the cheek, a pat on the back, curling up next to one another to watch a movie or old Open footage. It's fine.

But I do care. It's always been one of my biggest goals, to beat him. But no matter how good I get, I still can't manage it. It's frustrating.

......You think Kintarou would mind if we curled up together with popcorn to watch tennis?

If it would make you feel better, I could try?

I think if you offered that Kintarou would be in the kitchen popping popcorn before you finished asking.

You can try. But that doesn't mean I can beat him...

....I...I might ask then...

You have managed to beat me, however. ...not this year, but you have in the past.

You will make his day. Have fun, Ryoma.

I had an off day last time. I'll see you again at the French Open and I'll beat you.

I will. Maybe while I'm at that con with him.

We'll see. I am on a winning streak right now. It won't be as easy as you think.

Good idea. Are the two of you sharing a room?

If I wanted easy, I would have been a translator full time instead of just as a favor to a friend.

I think so.

That is true.

Excellent. That is the perfect opportunity then.

Though I do have something to fall back on if I ever decide to retire. Like when I'm 100.

I thought you were going to run a temple It is good to prepare for the eventuality. The years will start to run together once you hit 25.

You've always been like 1 million years old, buchou And I listen to you. I guess sempai can be useful sometimes.

Yes. Well. Have fun at the convention. You realize that American anime fans will likely have no clue as to who you are, right?

I know and that's what makes it so great. No one will bother me except to translate for Kin-chan.
